Your privacy, in plain words
Clipkeep is built so we don't need to know who you are. Here is exactly what happens to your data.
The short version
- We don't save your personal details. No account is needed, and there is no database of users.
- Your files are made and kept on your own device, inside your browser.
- We don't track you. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking cookies.
- You can delete everything at any time with Clear all in the Recent list.
What stays on your device
- The video files you save, and any part-finished downloads, so you can pick up where you left off.
- Your Recent list of videos.
- All of this lives in your browser's own storage. We can't read it. Clearing your browser data or pressing Clear all removes it.
What passes through our server, and isn't kept
- The link you paste, so we can ask YouTube which qualities are available.
- The video data itself, which we pass straight on to your browser. It is never written to disk.
- We don't keep a record of which videos you look up or download.
If you sign in with Google
- Sign-in is optional and only used to show your own uploads.
- We ask for view-only access. We can't upload, delete or change anything on your channel.
- Your name, email and Google access are held in our server's memory only while you're signed in. They are never saved to a file or database.
- Signing out removes them straight away and tells Google to cancel our access. It also ends on its own after about an hour.
Other services
- YouTube provides the videos, so YouTube (Google) knows which video was requested. Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers.
- If you sign in, Google's own privacy policy covers your Google account.
